Amarie

ORIGINS & FOUNDATIONS

Born by the sea in 1994 in Estoril, AMARIE discovered her first camera at age 14 and began exploring the nuances of light, color and emotion through the viewfinder. After completing a Photography & Visual Culture course and internships in advertising and event decoration, she shifted into professional roles as photographer, assistant director and producer — these layered experiences shaped her eye for narrative in image making.

IMAGE, ILLUSTRATION & INK

AMARIE’s practice spans photography, illustration and tattooing. She draws on cinematic techniques and painterly sensibilities to craft visual stories — each frame, sketch or tattoo is executed with the intention to reveal a moment you feel rather than simply see. As she puts it:

“I seek in every picture to transmit the truth, in each look an emotion, and in each movement the feeling that you are present in the moment.”

PROJECTS & COLLABORATIONS

AMARIE has contributed to multi-disciplinary projects within the CO-OP network and beyond, including collective exhibitions and campaigns that merge her photographic and illustrative talents. Her work as a tattoo artist adds a layer of permanence to the fleeting moment — extending her craft from lens to skin, from fleeting light to lasting form.
